Frequently asked questions

  • How long will it take to publish my book?

In your contract it states that your book will be finished within a six month period. Most books, depending on length, editing, etc. are finished much sooner.

  • Do I have to have an ISBN & Barcode?

If you want your book to be distributed and available on amazon.com, as well as have your book's info in the Books In Print database for book store ordering, you must have an ISBN. Your ISBN is a number given to your book to uniquely identify it, and is used by book stores to find your book's information.

  • My book is for young readers. Do you offer illustration?

At this time, we do not offer illustrations. It is the responsibility of the author to provide illustrations at 300dpi for optimal printing. All images must be accompanied by an art release that we provide. While we do allow books for young readers with illustrations, they must be black and whites, no full color illustrations, please.

  • Do you take care of the image for the cover of the book?

While we do have some images for the cover, we prefer that the author provide his/her own image(s).

  • Will I receive any free books?

Authors receive (1) one copy of their book, free of charge. To purchase copies of your book, you may use our order form.

  •  When will I begin receiving royalty payments?

Royalty payments begin approx. four months after your book becomes available, and every three months after that for the length of your contract.

  • I've received my electronic proofs, how much time do I have to suggest changes?

You will be given two weeks from the day you receive your electronic proofs to suggest any changes, typos, etc. We suggest that you take your time when looking over your proofs.
